Upgrade to Version 8 to Continue Using Xshell & Xftp Free Licensing
With the official release of Xshell 8 and Xftp 8, support for Version 7 free licensing has come to an end. Please upgrade to Version 8 by going to our Free for Home/School Download page. After installing Version 8, your session files, configurations, etc. will automatically be imported from Version 7.

Can I continue to use Xshell 7 or Xftp 7 Free Licensing?
No. Version 7 Free Licensing is no longer supported. You must upgrade to Version 8 to continue using Free Licensing.
How do I migrate my Version 7 data to Version 8?
Your session files, configurations, etc. will automatically import into Version 8 after installation.
I would like to continue using Version 7. How can I do so?
You can purchase a license of Version 8 from our online store: https://sales.netsarang.com/e_sales/online_store.html and use the Version 8 key to download and activate a Version 7 license. Our product keys are backwards compatible.
I purchased a license of Xshell 7 or Xftp 7. Am I affected?
No. Only the Free Version is affected. Paid users can continue to use Xshell 7 and Xftp 7.
I am on Windows 7 and Xshell 8 and Xftp 8 won’t run properly. What can I do?
Version 8 requires at least Windows 8.1. If you must use Windows 7, you will need to purchase of license of Xshell or Xftp. You can then use the Version 8 product key to download and activate a Version 7 license to use on Windows 7.
