xshell for Telnet

When I use Xshell to telnet into PIXs, I get strange characters inserted, often a P or an apostrophe, on the command line when I maximize or minimize the window. Can I eliminate this somehow.

Re: Re: xshell for Telnet

C:\WINDOWS\system32>echo $LANG
$LANG
C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Term type = xterm

Columns = 100
Rows = 32

Font = Courier
Size = 9

In the screenshot I have deleted some of the IP and name info, but at the prompt at the bottom are the characters ( ' and P) that are inserted when I maximize and restore down the xshell window.

I tried several different term types and always got same results.

Try to turn off the "Send keep alive messages" option in Properties->Advanced tab.

Have already done that and it has not helped.

We have asked CISCO for a test machine and they should respond shortly now. We will post a solution as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Any update on this? I appreciate your efforts, but if this cannot be remedied, I am afraid that, despite the other attractive features of the software, we will have to eliminate as a potential candidate for our needs.

Thank you.

I am sorry to inform you that we are still working on this problem. CISCO has been very uncooperative on giving us a hand.

We apologize for the delay and we will let you know when the fix becomes available.

I was jsut wondering if there had been any progress on this or other rpeorts of similar issues? I have tried the latest builds of 2.0 and even tried 3.0 beta with no improvement.

Thanks.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: xshell for Telnet

Some Telnet servers such as the one included in CISCO PIX do not seem to support resizing. Please upgrade your Xshell 3.0 beta with the following setup file and see if the problem persists.

http://download.netsarang.com/files/xsh3_beta.exe

Your feedback on this matter will be appreciated.

Re: xshell for Telnet

We tried duplicating this problem but were not successful. It is very difficult to duplicate the problem since we do not have access to the specific Cisco machine.

If you can grant us access to your PIX machine, we may be able to provide you with further support. If it is possible, please send us the login information via email for security purpose.

Thank you for your cooperation.
