Cannot connect to Microsoft SSH Server for Windows

Windows 10 has a built-in SSH server, but I cannot connect to it using Xshell:

Connecting to 127.0.0.1:22...
Connection established.
To escape to local shell, press 'Ctrl+Alt+]'.
Connection closing...Socket close.

Connection closed by foreign host.

Disconnected from remote host(localhost) at 19:38:09.

Type `help' to learn how to use Xshell prompt.

I can connect to it using putty.

Program Ver. : Xshell 5

Re: Cannot connect to Microsoft SSH Server for Windows

Thank you for your patience.

We've investigated this issue, but we were unable to duplicate your issue. We were able to successfully log into Windows 10 sshd without issue. We tested it with both Windows 10 1607 and 1703.

Try the following:

1 Set the ssh authentication user interface to "Always dialog based" in the global options of the Tools menu.
2. Turn on the SSH Trace option in the session file's properties: Session properties -> Advanced -> Trace

If the problem persists, please provide us with the results of the steps above.
