Potential Issue with Master Password

1. I set a master password for Xshell.
2. I closed Xshell then started it.
3. The Enter password dialog popped up.
4. I clicked on "CANCEL" without inserting the password.
5. The dialog closed.

So far so good. BUT Then:

Xshell started and I could access all the SSH session as if there is no master password on Xshell.

So in essence the master password protection is useless.

Re: Potential Issue with Master Password

The design of the Master Password feature is intended for encryption of the session passwords. You may be able to see the session information, but the password will not be accessible.

Re: Potential Issue with Master Password

Our tests show that you are correct and that the master password is not requested on certain occasions when Xshell is quickly restarted. We will fix this issue asap.

If you no longer want a master password, you can disable it by going to Tools -> Options -> Security tab.
