Re: Can't Login Hostkey Reject

This problems seems to arise because the SSH Security Warning dialog box does not appear for some reason.

We recommend you use 'terminal based SSH authentication' to avoid this issue.

Re: Can't Login Hostkey Reject

Well managed servers usually do not allow root login.

You can change the option in sshd_config. It is usually located in /etc/ssh directory.

PermitRootLogin no => PermitRootLogin yes

A restart of your sshd daemon is required.

Re: Can't Login Hostkey Reject

Can you try logging in after changing the SSH Auth UI option to "Always dialog based"? Then please provide us with the results.

Re: Can't Login Hostkey Reject

This may be because there are special characters in your password. We've corrected this issue in the latest build of Xshell, so if you have not updated, please do so and try again.
