I get "RegDBSetKeyValueEx failed" error message when trying to install either xmanager2 or 3

I am using Windows XP
I get the error: "RegDBSetKeyValueEx failed" when trying to install either xmanager2 or xmanager3.

I do have an administrator account in my computer.

Any idea why the installer can not access the registry key?

thanks

This problem is usually related to user previlage to write on registry. Since you are saying you use the admin account, let's rule out this possbility.

My second guess is an application that prevents you from writing in your registry. Most notorioius application known to do this is Easy DVD installed on Packard Bell computers. I know there is a patch available.

You can test this problem by try adding a random value in your registry. If you can't do this, installation programs most definately can't do this either.
