Xterm locks up on long output commands over WAN

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Xmanager and am connecting to a Solaris 10 x80 opteron box in Phoenix over a VPN tunnel from our Beverly Hills office. Things seem to go fine, but if I do a command which produces a lot of output (ps -ef for example), the window locks up and is no longer usable. I have no idea what the problem might be. If I telnet to that box and do the same thing I have no trouble.

Thanks,
Tim

There is no problem handling the data amount such as the output of the command 'ps -ef' for Xterm started through Xmanager. This might be caused by the instability of VPN and possible data packet loss over the network.

Because Xterm generates heavier network traffic than telnet, we suggest you to use the SSH protocol in Xstart. This can optimize the network traffic to more than half.

Thank you for using Xmanager.
