Can not login to Solaris 10

Hello,

I get a trouble when using Xmanager with Solaris Sparc 10.
The Xmanager 2.0 can remote access to the log in console of Solaris 10. But when I login by the root user, there is a warning: "Not on System Console, root login reject"

I have check the /var/dt/Xerrors, there are some warnings (See attached file for detail).
Please help me to solve this problems.

Thanks.

Root login is diabled by default for security reasons. I recommend you to keep it this way, but we you must, here is intruction on how:

Open /etc/default/login and comment out the line that starts with CONSOLE like the following.

#CONSOLE=/dev/console

In most cases, you should login as a normal user and then switch to root account. But then again, it's your choice.

Simply open /etc/default/login and comment out the line that starts with CONSOLE like the following.

#CONSOLE=/dev/console

save the login file and go to your xbrowser to login in Solaris 10 System. Now You can login by root user.

Re: Can not login to Solaris 10

Try logging in via SSH or Telnet. If you have no user account other than root account, you will have to access the console.
