in XBrowser I can't find my linux server.

I have done this.
For gdm, do the following:

Open the /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf file using vi.
Go to the [xdmcp] section.
Change the value of "Enable" to 1.
Restart gdm or linux.

But I still can't find my redhat linux 8.0 in the XBrowser

Re: in XBrowser I can't find my linux server.

Please check if the gdm process is running on the Linux.

# ps -ax | grep dm

If the gdm is not running, "runlevel" of the Linux should be changed to 5.

Also, make sure that the Linux is located in the same network segment with your PC.

I ran the command :ps -ax | grep dm
and I received this:
691 ? S 0:00 sendmail: accepting connections
701 ? S 0:00 sendmail: Queue runner@01:00:00 for /var/spool/client
2902 pts/2 S 0:00 grep dm

is gdm running?

A gdm is not running on your Linux. For runlevel configuration, please see the FAQ #2 at:
