Re: Change background/foreground color

To change the background/foreground colors, please read "How to use Xmanager => xterm => Chaning xterm background color" section in the Xmanager Help.

Re: Re: Re: Change background/foreground color

There are two ways you can do this. One, you can use the command line option. Two, you can create a xterm resource file. First option will only affect one xterm and the second option will affect all xterm windows for the specific user.

Command line option:

xterm -fg white -bg black

xterm resource file:
create a file named(sensitive case) XTerm in your home directory with your specs such as

XTerm*Background: linen
XTerm*Foreground: black
XTerm*font: 9x15
XTerm*saveLines: 1000
XTerm*HiForeColor: white
XTerm*HiBackColor: #c06077
XTerm*geometry: +50+100

Re: Change background/foreground color

I created file XTerm and pasted the suggested values in. That worked on my home server but the colors are still not being set on remote servers. I tried to create an XTerm file on the remote server but that didn't work. I have tried Editing Profile... colors. Some of the colors change but not all. I just want a white background and black text. I can barely make out directory names.

Re: Change background/foreground color

It sounds like you're using gnome-terminal or something other than xterm. The instructions above are related to xterm or xterm compatibles.

What is your desired terminal and what do you want to do exactly?
