Every UNIX/Linux machine has different way of getting Chinese input. Please provide us with following information to better assist you:

1. Vendor/version of your remote host.
2. Connection protocol (XDMCP, SSH, Telnet)
3. Terminal Emulator you are using (xterm, dtterm, gnome-terminal)

Thank you for your cooperation.

Server: linux 9.0
Chinese input: linux default(ctrl+space load input method)
client: xp+xmanager 2.0
Connection protocol : telnet
Terminal Emulator : gnome

I telnet the server and set DISPLAY=XmanagerClientIP:0.0 to display my application window in XP windows.
also, I disabled the ctrl+space function to load my XP Chinese Input .

thks a lot!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: how can I use chinese input (ctrl+space?) in startx window(which I load it use telnet)

This is a known bug for the JDS (Java Desktop System) of Solaris 10. This problem does not apply to Xmanager only but to all X servers. We will post a solution when SUN comes out with an official announcement. Meanwhile, please use CDE for your work.

To type Chinese in CDE, follow the procedure below.

1. Connect to the remote host with Xbrowser.
2. From the Login window, click Option and then point to Language.
RESULT: Language menu appears.
3. In the Language list, select a type of Chinese that you want to use.
4. Login to your account.
5. You can switch between the input types (English <-> Chinese) by pressing Left CTRL and space keys simultaneously.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
