MAC OS X and Xmanager
Has anyone any experience of getting XDMCP working with MAC OS X and Xmanager 2?
I've managed to get an xterm to display on the PC but I can't pick it up via broadcast yet.

Re: MAC OS X and Xmanager
Since OS X made many alterations from BSD 4.4, we are not certain if MAC OS X allows XDMCP connection. Here are few things you need to make sure before you will be able to use XDMCP connection:
1. Firewall Configuration
At first, Xmanager sends XDMCP broadcast query to UDP 177 port of MAC OS X. Then, remote server makes a connection back to your local PC using TCP 6000 ~ 6010. Please refer to Xmanager FAQ# 5 and 12 for more information on configuring firewall.
2. X Display Manager
Make sure that X display manager such as XDM, KDM, GDM, or dtlogin is running on your remote host (MAC OS X).
3. Allow remote login
XDMCP must be enabled before Xmanager can connect to remote host. Please refer to Xmanager FAQ# 2 for instruction on how to enable this feature.
You can also install Gnome on MAC OS X and use it when connecting remotely.
Please refer to the following page for more information on how to install Gnome on MAC OS X:
Please contact MAC OS X customer support for more information on how to setup OS X to use XDMCP.
