Japanese font is not shown on Java Application in Redhat Linux 9 . The following messages were shown.
"Can't open the following font. '-watanabe-mincho-medium-r-normal--*-120-*-*c-*-jisx0208.1983-0'"
"Can't open the following font. '-b&h-lucidasans-medium-r-normal-sans-*-120-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1' It will be replaced to another automatically."

I alredy have installed the following fonts in Xmanager 1.3.9 .

ja75dpi.exe
monotype.exe
urw.exe
misc.exe
mathematica.exe

Re: Can not display Japanese font of Java application in Redhat Linux 9

To display Japanese Watanabe Font in Xmanager, you should run a font server in your Linux and register it into Xmanager. Please follow the steps below:

1. Download watanabe.tar.gz to Red Hat Linux from the link below:
¿¿¿¿http://www.linuxgroup.org/files/fonts/watanabe.tar.gz
2. Uncompress it into your preferred directory.
3. From the directory, run ¿touch fonts.dir¿ command.
4. Add the directory into the font server configuration by editing /etc/X11/fs/config.
Under the variable ¿catalogue¿, add the full path of this new font directory at the end.
5. Restart the font server.
6. Register this font server into Xmanager by using Xconfig > Font > Add Font Server.

We hope this solve your problem and would appreciate your feedback.
