1. When you execute the downloaded file, InstallShield Wizard will begin the installation process.
2. Follow the instruction of InstallShield Wizard. If you have purchased Xmanager license, please use the product key that you have received from us to install. Otherwise, use 'evaluation' for the product key.
   
3. When the install is completed, Xmanager 2.0 icon will be placed on the desktop.
   

1. Double click on the Xmanager Enterprise folder icon to open up the program folder.
   
2. Use Xmanager or Xbrowser to connect to a remote UNIX/Linux system that provides XDM and CDE environment. When you start Xbrowser, list of available hosts are dynamically displayed.

   Xbrowser automatically finds the available hosts within the local network. If you can not find your remote machine from the list, please check the following Xmanager FAQ Link to configure your server for XDMCP connection. FAQ Link XDMCP connection fails for Linux. How do I configure my Linux box? I am trying to connect to SUN Solaris/HP-UNIX/IBM AIX using XDMCP, but I get the error message: "XDMCP Connection failed."

3. When you double click on an icon from the list of available hosts, Xmanager instantly creates a connection to the host. When you are successfully connected to a remote host, login window such as following (Solaris 9) appears.

   If you can not see the login screen, you may have firewall setup between your computer and the remote host. Please refer to the following Xmanager FAQ Link. FAQ Link To use Xmanager, which ports should I allow on my firewall? I'm in the local network inside a NAT system. How can I connect to the remote host? How can I configure firewall settings in Windows XP/2003? When I connect to UNIX by XDMCP, the CDE session hangs.

4. Enter the username and password to logon to the system. When your username and password are accepted, desktop environment such as following will appear.

   If the remote desktop does not start, you may need to edit your login scripts (.cshrc, .profile, .bashrc, etc). Refer to the following Xmanager FAQ Link. FAQ Link When I connect to UNIX by XDMCP, the CDE session hangs. I entered correct username and password in the login screen but it is only showing the black screen.

5. Use Xstart to launch xterm from UNIX/Linux machines that do not provide XDM and CDE environment.
